RiverQuest is docked at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam, CT 06438

RiverQuest offers a peaceful, relaxing Sunset/Evening Cruise on the beautiful lower Connecticut River. We have a cabin so hot sun or rain is not an issue, you can be under cover. It is beautiful out here anytime. Cloud cover is OK!

At the end of a hectic workday, busy day with the kids or if you are visiting or are new to the area or a local who just wants to remember the beautiful area you live in, please join us aboard RiverQuest and experience the beauty as we quietly cruise along these unspoiled waters.

On this cruise, about two hours in length, we do only light narration so that you can just relax and enjoy.

Bring a group (up to ten) of your friends, co-workers, family or just yourself. Gather around a table with your picnic basket and your "favorite" beverage (alcohol is allowed, see below for places to pick up food/drink).

Enjoy the spectacular beauty as we cruise the lower Connecticut River, an area that the Nature Conservancy considers to be "One of the Last Great Places".

Due to the length and time of this relaxing cruise, No passengers under 12-ish please! Thanks.

(Children of any age are welcome on any of our Daytime Cruises).

Parents: Get a sitter, take a break and enjoy a lovely, peaceful cruise on the river.

NOTE:

Come as one, a couple or with more (up to ten). Reservations are appreciated so we have an idea of how many are coming: Contact Us or Call 860-662-0577.

If you can't call, walk-ons are always welcome as long as we have not met our capacity!

We can accommodate pre-arranged small groups (up to ten persons) for a public sunset cruise, however, if someone wants that evening for a Private Charter, the charter will take precedence (good old economics). We'll call or e-mail you to give you first choice of the evening as a Private Charter.

GROUPS: Over ten, please e-mail Contact Us or call us. You would need a Private Charter OR on off season or off peak days, we can discuss how to handle your group.

NOTE: If you need to fill your picnic basket, you can pick food up at: The Cooking Company, Haddam Pizza or Subway. If you have come from Route 9, Haddam Pizza is on the left before the light, The Cooking Company is on the right just before the light, Subway is on the left after the light on Route 82/Bridge Street. If you need some "favorite beverage", Tony's Liquor Store is on the right on Route 82/Bridge Street.

Or go to one of the local eateries (La Vita Gustosa or The Gelston House, both in East Haddam or The Blue Oar in Haddam) before or after your cruise.

Also, RiverQuest has a smoke free environment. There is NO SMOKING allowed on board. Thank you.

A description of our possible Sunset Cruises and South Sunset and Harbors and Creeks cruises.

Generally, we will cruise south, however, our final destination is always at the discretion of the Captain, dependent on weather and mood!

South Sunset Cruise

RiverQuest will cruise south, down the Connecticut River through the towns of Haddam, Chester, Deep River into Essex on the west side, and East Haddam and the virtually untouched landscape of the town of Lyme on the east side. We will pass several marinas and yacht clubs, Gillette’s Castle, Selden’s Island, and then cruise through Essex Harbor and turn back to Haddam.

North Sunset Cruise

RiverQuest will cruise north, up the Connecticut River. I'll add more when we figure it out! Regardless, it will be beautiful!

Coves and Creeks

RiverQuest will can cruise into many coves and creeks. One of these is Hamburg Cove, made famous by impressionist artists of the 19th century. Now a popular place for yachtsman. If conditions are right, we may enter Selden Creek, a peaceful, unspoiled creek. We may go all the way through to the north end or turn and go back out the south end. Other options are Deep River Landing area, Whale Bone Creek or the Salmon River.
